The Sixth Sense

The Sixth Sense is a type of "It's a Wonderful Death" film. The main character did die before the story begins, and he does spend some of his time in the film coming to accept his death. He does not look back and think that it was good that he died, but his afterlife gives him a chance to understand and accept his own death and to accept that he should stop haunting his wife. Many "It's a Wonderful Death" films have a character who knows that the dead man is in fact dead or should have been, and guides him on his way. In The Sixth Sense, that character is the main character, Cole.
